Any guesses as to who will win in Valencia this Sunday?

Your guess is as good as mine, with the surprising nature of this years season.

We could have winner number 8 here or may be a repeat winner first time this season.

Michael Schumacher is my bet for Valencia victory on Sunday. He has been quick, and the track which has similar characteristics to that of Monaco were he scored his first pole of the season he will be the one to beat. I think he lost Mono GP because he was penalised.

Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery who belives that the multi-cornered Spanish track should confer the same car/driver advantages that the German seven time champion enjoyed when he annexed pole position in Monaco also shares my view. 

Michael will be favourite for the win if he manages a good qualifying. 

Hembery says "I think you have to look at someone like, maybe Michael getting the pole position.", "He probably would have won Monaco if he hadn't been penalised, so why not here? Michael for Valencia, that's where the money should go."

Of course I would not dare say that others don't stand a chance. The others will all be looking to get their second win and get the maximum points from the race.

All I can say is that Valencia is a race that should not be missed for any F1 Fan.

Happy 5000

HAPPY 5000

A big Happy Milestone for RP's Blog. 5000 page views a big thing for me. I did not realize when an assignment turned into a habit and now a a passion. When I started with this blog I never thought I would continue for this long to see my blog reach 5000 views.

This would not have been possible without all of you. You are all a very important part of my blog and I would like to thank all of you for your support.

Not forgetting to mention a special thank you to Nikita Dadia, Nimit Shah, Arvind Pandi Dorai, Bipin Parpani, Rahul Singh, Vineet Singh and Neville Gomes for your contribution and motivation.

Hope you all keep helping me write more interesting articles. Your feedback means a lot to me so keep them coming and let's arrive at the next milestone soon with all your involvements and inspiration.

iPhone 5 ........Again

The reason I mention AGAIN is because i used this title when Apple disappointed by naming their new iPhone as iPhone 4s and not 5.

But past is past and today in the WWDC hopefully a new iPhone with the nomenclature iPhone 5.
Yes today in San Francisco Apple will be announcing various updates to its product lineup including the Macbook Pro, iPhone and many other.

Now let me quickly take you through the list of updates expected in the iPhone 5. But before you read about it have a look at images created by Bryce Haymond from Blackpool Creative of iPhone 5 based on leaked parts and schematics.

1. The screen will be a 3.9 inch retina display. So a bigger screen. FaceTime camera to be HD and would be moved to the top, like the new iPad. 


2. iOS 6. The new OS would have new apps from Apple like maps (earlier they used google maps), finally we will have  facebook integrated in iOS 6.



3. All new Design. As you can see    from the photos the new design looks better than the iPhone 4 and 4s.


4. New sim card slot is smaller in the new phone. This is going to create difficulty for users till the carriers come out with these new nano sims everywhere.



5. The new iPhone will be slimmer and possibly even lighter than iPhone 4s.

6. The volume controls would be on the left side as usual with the ringer/silent slide key.




7. Now the big updates, there might be a new dock connector which will be smaller. The speakers might be stereo and louder (Thank god for that its was almost as if Apple had forgotten about speakers after the first iPhone), the  headphone jack will be shifted to the bottom next to the speakers.


8. Upgrade to the processor and graphics chip with a better battery life is also on the cards.


9. iCloud will see an increase in use with more apps expected to start using iCloud for backup and sync.




This is what I expect to come in the new phone, But Apple has the habit to come up with something special and new which we cannot expect. Hoping this happens again with the new iPhone 5.

F1: 6 Races, 6 Different Winners

The year 2012 has been the year of records for F1, First time we have 6 World Champions in the season all racing for the crown, and now we have for the first time in F1 6 Different Drivers have won the opening 6 races of the season.

Who Won Where 

1) Australia: Jenson Button won the inaugural race after starting from 2nd position on the grid. He is one of the 6 world champions staring in this years season. So Button made a great start to the season in Australia. Button got the first win of the season for McLaren. 

2) Malaysia: Fernando Alonso won the 2nd Grand Prix of the season in Sepang, Malaysia. Another world champion on the grid. Alonso won a rain soaked race and held on to the top spot in an eventful race. So the 2nd race was also won by a champion.

3) China: Nico Rosberg's first win of the career came in Shanghai. Mercedes won their first race after coming back to the sport. Last race they won was in 1955. Nico is the first winner this season who is not a champion. Nico had a great race and was able to nurse his tyres to victory.

4) Bahrain: The defending world champion Sebastian Vettel won the fourth round of the 2012 season in Sakhir with Red Bull. Nico managed to keep the flying Finn "Kimi" behind to secure the win. So, 3 out of the 4 races this year have been won by world champions.

5) Spain: Pastor Maldonado won his first race of his career in Catalunya, Spain. Williams came back on the top step after waiting for a long time, their last win came in 2004 Brazil. Maldonado kept his cool and won the race ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso. He won the race from pole which was given to him after Hamilton was penalised and had to give away the pole.

  6) Monaco: Mark Webber makes history in F1 making 6 different drivers winning the first 6 races of 2012 by winning in Monte Carlo. He got the pole courtesy Michael Schumacher's penalty. Monaco is a tough race and is very difficult to overtake, this helped Webber to take victory in the historic Monaco GP.

It will be exciting to watch the Canadian Grand Prix on 10th June. Will there be a 7th driver winning the 7th race????? 

We will have to wait and watch out for the 3 world champions who yet have to win this season, its about time for them dont you think????

Contact Diaries is the App that I will be reviewing today. This is my first attempt at App review and all thanks to my friend Rahul. If you guys like it I will do reviews of Apps every week with my recommendations and Rating.

Summary

This App is a must have for all Mumbaikars. It gives details, reviews and maps of all the places in Mumbai, whether you want to know which restaurant to go to or which movie to catch. All you need to do is go to the app. The app is a wish come true for a lot of shopaholics as it shows offers and deals currently running around the city.

Rating

The App gets a 4 star rating, as a few features are missing such as check in and taxi and rickshaw meters. One more thing only Mumbai and Goa cities are active as of now, others are expected to be updated soon.

Price

Free

This is the best part, as I was not expecting a good app to be free.

Features

The first impression about the application I got was that it looks very confusing, but spend some time with app and you realise the developers have taken pain to make it as simple and user friendly as possible. The question here is have they succeeded in doing so, and the answer to this is YES.

The feature list is exhaustive, as the app has classified the details in 7 categories, which makes it easy for users to search for what they are looking for. The 7 categories are 

Restaurants which has details of practically all restaurants, bars, cafes and much more. 

Lifestyle which has details of book shops, clothes shops,dance and cooking classes and shopping in general. 

Travel gives you details of hotels, airlines, cabs and everything you need while travelling. 

Entertainment gives you details of movies running their timings and which cinema hall can you catch it in. It also gives you details about plays, shows, art galleries and art shows running in town, and much more.

Business gives you details about various business establishments, professional services you may need and much more.

Education gives you details about colleges, schools and coaching classes as well.

Healthcare gives information about hospitals, clinics, doctors and much more.

The app uses your location to provide information about places around you. The location can be changed as per your liking. You get user reviews about places and also images clicked by users so you can make your call whether to visit the place or not. If you like the place you can share the details with friends on Facebook, twitter, BBM if you have a BB or email it so a lot of options to share. Dont know where the place is, no problem check it on the map rite from the app.

Super SUV the Lamborghini URUS

Lamborghini URUS

Feast your eyes on the Super SUV from Lamborghini unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

The decision is still pending whether the Urus ("oo-rooss" as pronounced) will go into production but I think it will and will hit the roads by 2015.

It will have a 600 HP engine and the use of ultra light materials the car will be lighter than other cars of similar segment by 100kg.

The looks are the highlight of the car keeping the Lamborghini styling up front the Big SUV looks outright stunning. The car will be a desire for all who lust for speed and space. The Urus will seat 4 comfortably and has a lot of luxury thrown in the cabin as well.

With the Bentley EXP 9F concept out in Geneva the SUV market is looking to get heated up in the future. The Urus with its looks and engine (read as POWER) will definitely take a major chunk of the market.  

Following the Lamborghini tradition of naming the cars with Fighter Bull's name the URUS is also a Bulls name. So all in all this SUV the Urus is a true Lamborghini.

6 World Champions

6 World Champions

With just 5 days to go for the start of the 2012 season of formula 1 let me tell you that History is in the making and 2012 season is going to be special!

First time in the history of Formula 1 we will witness 6 world champions on the track's fighting to win the crown once again.

Sebastian Vettel 

The defending World Champion Sebastian Vettel has a lot to look out for this season, he is facing 5 world champions who all have a point to prove by dethroning him. He will have to out pace them all in the RedBull to try and win the title third consecutive time and complete his hattrick of titles. 

Michael Schumacher

The 7 time World Champion has to prove that he is still good enough to win his 8th title and that age holds no bar in formula 1 as long as you are fast. He also has to best his teammate Nico Rosberg who has been faster on most occasions of the 2011 season, although he was the driver who overtook most in the 2011 season he could not finish on the podium, so Schumi is going to be on fire in his Mercedes.

Lewis Hamilton

A lot of people have been commenting on Lewis Hamilton that he is very aggressive, will this season make him lose his aggression or will it add to the aggression on his pursuit for the title. He also has to make himself the no.1 driver in the team and beat his team mate Jenson Button.

Jenson Button
The only person to have given a good fight to Sebastian Vettel will be looking to beat him this season. He proved that on his day he is unbeatable but surely will be looking to multiply those days. He wants to win his 2nd title and prove that he is the best there is out there.

Fernando Alonso
Surely one of the fastest driver there is on the track, has been kept quiet in the Ferrari, but for how long? He will be looking to win the championship and if the car favours him nobody will be able to come close to him. Alonso and Ferrari are a dream combination of driver and car and he will be out there to prove it rite.

Kimi Raikkonen
Kimi Raikkonen a.k.a Iceman, returning to the sport after 2 years is looking to tell the world that he has still got the pace to win the title. Kimi has to do better than his teammate at Lotus than what he has shown in the practice so far. Kimi is the person all other drivers will have to watch because in a good car he is super quick.


So with the 6 world champions the 2012 season is truly special. The first race in Melbourne, Australia on the 18th March, 2012 will uncover the story of who will dominate the season.....

F1 season Begins!!!!!!

iPad 3 probables

March 7, 2012 will see the launch of the iPad 3, and with all the rumours flying around about the features the new iPad will have, here are a few that i think will make it to the iPad 3.

Form Factor

Here the bad news for all size zero lovers the iPad 3 will be thicker than the iPad 2, something like 0.81mm thicker than the previous iPad. The iPad 3 will have thicker edges that will house the new camera. There is also much bigger speaker given to the iPad 3. The rumours also say that there might be a smaller sized iPad but I don't think that they will be true.

Retina Display 

The rumor that has received the most coverage and may be mostly confirmed is that the iPad 3 will have a high resolution display that will be known as Retina Display. iPad 3's resolution would be 1536x1024.

This display will look sharp and will make watching movies and playing HD games even more pleasurable. The images taken with the new camera will look stunning on the new retina display.

Camera

The iPad 3 will have a new camera, the camera from the iPhone 4s '8 megapixel'. We all know that the camera in the iPhone 4s is a great camera with superb picture clarity and the camera clubbed with the retina display will definitely make the iPad 3 a good buy for the tablet user. The front camera will also get a bump for face time.

Processors

The reason I have used processors instead of processor is because I feel there will be a quad core processor A6 chip. But rumors suggest that there is an A5X chip with improved GPU. There is a mixed feelings among the apple experts as to which chip will make it to the final iPad 3.

F1 cars of the 2012 season

F1 is back in news!!!

The 2012 season will start in March but the cars have been launched. The Teams will battle out on the tracks with their weapons (the cars) and it will be interesting to see the cars after the changes made to accommodate the new rules from FIA. Will the other teams be able to catch the champions(RedBull)? 

Only time will tell.

REDBULL
The defending champions have named the new contender RB8.

McLAREN MERCEDES

The Mclaren Mercedes has named the car MP4-27. The Mclaren's have traditionally had the best looking cars in F1 and the MP4-27 is no exception. It is my favourite car.

FERRARI

The scarlet car will try its best to get back up the winning ways with the F2012.

FORCE INDIA

The VJM05 will try to make India proud on the tracks of F1.

MERCEDES GP

Silver arrows will have a new car MGP W02 and Schumi in it will be the pair to watch out for.

CATERHAM

Previously known as Team Lotus is now Caterham and their new CT01.

LOTUS

With the iceman Kimi in the new E20 the Lotus will definitely be the car that can spring surprises.

  

SAUBER

The Sauber team will challenge others with their new C31.
