Review: Bajaj Pulsar 200NS

Bajaj Pulsar 200NS

Finally a new horse from the stables of  Bajaj Auto is out the 'Pulsar 200NS'.
Bajaj Auto made us wait for the new Pulsar for a long time, and Hell Yeah! the wait was damn well worth it. Just feast your eyes on the bike for a while before reading further.......

 Doesn't it look outstanding??????

Design and Styling
Lots to talk about here starting with the name itself, The Pulsar 200NS this is an all new Pulsar in every respect, 200 is for the 200cc engine and NS for Naked Sports. The bike has been designed by Bajaj Auto themselves and has not received any help from the KTM designers and yes these are the same guys who designed the KTM Duke 200 for the KTM.
The most apparent bit about the styling is the mass centralisation that gives the bike a radical stance. The side profile of the bike looks great because of the wrap around type fuel tank, naked engine, split seats and the huge alloy wheels. You will see no graphics on the bike and yet the Pulsar has style of its own.

My favourite part of the bike is the headlamp cluster. It looks like the face of a transformer and the styling makes it look aggressive and kind of has an 'in your face' attitude. The instrument cluster also works for me with analogue and digital both being used wisely. The Pulsar has two shades it will be available in red and yellow.
The looks definitely have taken the 2nd generation Pulsar to a new level and will sure Rule the Street!!!

 Performance
The 200NS uses a brand new liquid-cooled, 199.5cc, four valve, carbureted engine with a first in the world triple spark-plug system, coupled with a six speed gearbox. The engine develops maximum power of 23.17bhp at 9500 rpm with maximum torque of 18.3 nm at 8000rpm.
Well in performance it truly is a street racer and a force to reckon with.
This means the Pulsar 200NS will reach 60 in 3.6 sec and 100 in 9.8sec from stand still. The top speed is expected to be 136km/hr.
I am sure this has surely impressed all you bikers.....

The Pulsar 200NS is expected to be launched in April and the prices also will be announced then, but I expect it to be around the 90,000/- Rs. mark.

Like always leave a comment on the bike and your feedback is always welcome and it will be good to hear from you and if you want me to write on any particular topic do let me know!!!!!!!

Review: KTM Duke 200

KTM Duke 200

This long awaited stunning street bike from the joint alliance of Bajaj Auto of India and KTM of Austria has finally been launched on 24th, January 2012. The Duke 200 will be available in the existing Pro-Biking stores across 30 cities an 32 dealers which are all set to dawn the new orange look of the KTM. The bookings will start from 1st February 2012.

Design and Styling
The new style icon in the bikes is here. The bike looks radical with macho, butch and aggressive styling. The Duke 200 has the looks to make it an instant hit with the young bikers of the country. This nude bike weighs 136 kgs.
The front of the bike looks great because of the attractive headlight cluster, a small chin light below the main headlight gives the bike a ready to go attitude so its a nice touch. The instrument cluster is digital and looks modern and different from any thing we have seen before. The rear styling is decent with the led brake light and the turn indicators mounted high. The side of the bike looks stunning with nice graphics and the bumpy fuel tank. The large alloy wheels enhances the look of the bike and will also deliver comfortable ride. It will be available in black+orange colour combination.

Performance
You must have already guessed that the engine capacity is 200cc and don't go by it alone as this monster of an engine generates 25 Bhp maximum power and maximum power of around 19.2 nm of torque. The engine is a single cylinder, 4-valve, liquid cooled and fuel injected. It has the best in class power to weight ratio in its class of 184 Ps/ton. Just to give a feel how powerful this engine is let me tell you that 200cc commuter bikes available in India deliver 15 to 18 Bhp of maximum power. With this much power the Duke 200 will reach 100km/hr from stand still in under 10 seconds. The top speed is 135km/hr. You get disk brakes on front and rear increasing the confidence of the rider on the handling.

Now the lets talk about the Price: Bajaj and KTM has priced the Duke 200 very competitively at an introductory price of  Rs. 1,17,500(ex-showroom Delhi). This magical price tag has been achieved with the help of over 95% localisation. The bike will be produced at the Chakan plant of the Bajaj Auto.

Like always leave a comment on the bike and your feedback is always welcome and it will be good to hear from you and if you want me to write on any particular topic do let me know!!!!!!!

Mumbai: Super Cars Parade

Super Cars Parade

22/01/2012 is the date when the Super Cars Parade was held in Mumbai. The route selected was a good stretch where the people would enjoy seeing these cars in action on the road. The start and the end was at Mahalaxmi Race Course. From the race course the cars drove down to Nariman Point and proceeded to Teen batti then to Worli Sea Face, the cars then drove up to the Domestic Airport junction and returned to the Race Course via the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

The super cars, like Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, M-powered BMW's, Mercedes Benz AMG's, Porsche's, Maserati's,  Jaguar's, Bentley's and Rolls-Royces took part in the parade.

Like a lot of enthusiasts even I was standing on Marine drive and the wheels just looked splendid in flesh. The cars were there to raise your excitement and just sound of the engines is like sweet music for us petrol heads. It was an amazing morning with super cars.
For those who missed it here is a video I took view and rejoice and don't mind the editing and comments in the video as I am a beginner with video editing:)

DC Avanti

THE AUTO EXPO 2012 SHOW STOPPER!!!

DC AVANTI

The master of designs Dilip Chhabria better known as DC has done it again. His latest creation the Avanti was a run away hit with the people who visited the auto expo this year at Delhi and all those who saw the pictures on line. Even Mr Amitabh Bachchan who launched the car couldn't take his eyes off the Avanti. The Red colour of the car made sure everyone notices it!!!!!

The Avanti looks all the bit a fast blazing sports car and its all set to take on the competition from the super cars of the world. DC has worked very hard on this car and has paid attention to minute details very well. Even the name is sporty Avanti which means "Forward" in Italian tells you that its going to be a fast car.
It will be available in two models : Avanti V4 and Avanti V6. The Avanti V4 will be powered by a V4 engine sourced from Ford which will generate maximum power of 265 bhp. The Avanti V6 will be powered by a V6 engine, sourced from Honda and it will generate maximum power of 400bhp. This means that the Avanti will live up to its name by achieving an expected top speed of 250km/hr(electronically limited).

One thing you will instantly comment on this marvellous piece of art is that the face reminds you of the ferrari family look. Yet the Avanti holds its own in terms of the look, radical just what a sports car should look like.
All you petrol heads who desire speed this will be available only by 2013, it will be manufactured in Pune. First Sports Car to be manufactured in India.

And now for the question which might get your hopes high or will burn down your hopes to ashes...............
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST????

Yes this baby will come at an unbeatable price tag of Rs.25 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) for the V4 and Rs.30 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) V6. This will be the least expensive sports car in India. So all those who cant afford a Ferrari, Lambo, will be drawn to the Avanti!!!!!!!

Leave you comment on the car if any and your views about the car.....
